Game Overview

The main goal in Base Defense is to protect your towering base from relentless enemy waves that will be depicted as robotic invaders or cyborgs. To protect your base from upcoming attacks players will be required to optimally place and carefully upgrade their weapons for maximum power and coverage. 

Once a weapon has been deployed, it will automatically start attacking. Eventually when the robotic attackers succumb, players will receive resources such as metal and coins. Metal can be used to upgrade, repair or deploy new weapons. As the levels progress, the enemies become stronger, and increase in quantity requiring players to budget their resources effectively.

Core Gameplay Features

• Weapon Deployment - Drag and drop your weapon units on designated spots along enemy paths. Each tower attacks enemies once they are within its range. 
• Weapon Types - Different weapons serve different functions, such as the freezer to slow down enemies, and gunners to cause massive damage, sentries for steady firing. Pairing these weapon types can create deadly combos to deal massive damage. 
• Repairs and Upgrades - Defeated enemies, will drop resources including metal scraps and coins which can be used to upgrade your base, and increase weapon damage. Players will also be required to repair their damaged weapons to keep their base operational.
• Resource Management - Coins and scrap metal earned from vanquished foes serve as the in-game currency for building and upgrading. 
• Weapon Placement - Each weapon has its designated tower, with each unit essential for covering the different attack routes, and adapting to the different enemy types. 
• Health and Base Protection - Your base has its health bar, implying that it's not fragile, but will eventually succumb if it takes enough damage. You will start out with the “Mother Base”, but can shift to the “Super Base”, and “Eternal Base”, by spending enough coins since they will have significantly better stats.

Controls and Interface

Base Defense Unblocked offers players with simple controls. Using the mouse/touchpad, deploy units on desired locations, and upgrade existing ones. Both these options can be accessed through an intuitive menu that is displayed when players click on an empty deployment spot, or an existing weapon. This opens the type of weapons, or the upgrade/repairs menu respectively. 

While playing, keep track of your base’s health, and the available resources via the neatly designed HUD elements. This is very important for players especially if they are running low on health, since the entire strategy can change depending upon it. And remember, if you’re too overwhelmed, you can always pause, step back, and strategize.

The sound effects also focus upon immersion which means they have been dialed down to the perfect level where the emphasis remains upon weapon firing and enemy movements. All these factors help in keeping the focus solely upon strategizing, and protecting your base.

Tips for Success

Quality over Quantity

Focus more upon upgrading weapons, instead of deploying all types of weapons available. Slowly build up your arsenal but always have a base level of weapons set first, that have been upgraded to their highest level. 

Quick Repairs

Placement of weapons define their vulnerability. Weapons placed closest to enemies are integral for keeping them at bay, but will also require quick and constant repairs, so keep an eye out on any damage especially during high traffic levels. 

Strategize

Study enemy patterns and learn what weapon works best against what type of enemy. This would allow optimal placement and deadly combos that you can create to fight off hordes of cyborgs. 

Resource Management

A fixed amount of metal scraps will be granted to players at the start of each level, which can either be splurged on different weapons, or utilized to build up a strong first line of defense. It is advisable to deploy either one or two weapons depending where the enemy troops can attack from, and upgrade them first. 

Pause and Step Back

During relentless hordes of enemies, players can pause the game to rethink their strategy. This option provides convenience, and time to rethink your strategy in case you find your current one failing.
